Nokia 5530 XpressMusic

Nokia 5530 XpressMusic
3 is the magic number, so they tell me. And Nokia will certainly be hoping so as today sees the launch of the Finnish manufacturers 3rd touchscreen mobile phone; the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic. Available exclusively at Mobiles.co.uk, part of the Carphone Warehouse, and in stock now for next day delivery, click here to check out the latest deals for the 5530. For those of you unfamiliar with the third touchscreen offering from Nokia, let’s have a refresh and remind ourselves what is lurking within the sexy new stainless steel case…

The 5530 shrinks the 5800’s dimensions and also the touchscreen display with a 2.9 inch display on board (compared to the 3.2 incher found on its bigger brother). Screen resolution doesn’t suffer as the 5530 features the same 360 x 640 pixels which, when confined to a smaller screen actually makes the 5530 look sharper. The 5530 also runs on the same version of Symbian giving you all kinds of downloadable apps from the Ovi store and customisable goodness plus the new scrolling contacts bar that gives you easy access to your most frequently used contacts and the Facebook widget that takes you straight into your Facebook page.
As a member of the XpressMusic range, the 5530 is the perfect phone for the music connoisseur. Out of the box you’ll find a 4GB MicroSD memory card which provides ample storage for all your music, some high quality headphones and most importantly of all, a 3.5mm audio jack found on the bottom of the phone which means you can use your own headphones. The built in speakers also do a great job of blasting out your music without sacrificing audio quality. Full support for the Nokia music store tops off a healthy music package.

Elsewhere, the 5530 features a capable 3.15 Megapixel camera with an LED flash and autofocus plus video capture. The 5530 unfortunately lacks 3G connectivity but makes up for it with the inclusion of Wi-Fi. GPS is also cut from the features but the 5530 can be paired with a separate GPS dongle if this is a must. Finally we also get Bluetooth, Quad band support and a document viewer. All in all, an impressive package in an entry level phone and well primed to take on the LG Cookie and Samsung Tocco Lite. Click here to check out all the latest deals.
